This is the 14th solo exhibition for Anthony Caruana, which is being held at the Eduard Vilde Museum in Tallinn Estonia; “Translucent Journey

Continues”.

Anthony Caruana was born in the remote Gozitan village of Xewkija, in

1955. He is an artist by profession and has been practising for the past 36 years. His works has been exhibited in most major European cities

since 1972, winning various prestigious awards; worth mentioning, the National Portrait Gallery and the Mall Galleries of London, the Caterina

dei Medici Award in Florence , La Triade in Milan and the Biennale Grand Prix for Contemporary Art in Monte Carlo. His works are featured in various magazines amongst them The Art of England and House & Garden of Scotland.

The art of the Gozitan artist is all about pulsating colourful images, filled with optimism which is intensely pleasurable. Caruana’s work

realms between the observed and the imaginable, between the common place and the surreal. Their  aura enhanced in this exhibition because they

are presented as a group, a series, which forms a colourful symphony.They grab the viewer, at least for a while with there presence, as they sink slowly as harmonious arrangements. The works are characterized by their spontaneity and frenzy of execution, splashes of colour in swift

movements. They embrace the alla prima technique which often appears to float over a cloud of bright palate-knife strokes. It flows in circular

movements like tidal waves. They make the viewer surrender to their spell.

This exhibition will be inaugurated by the Hon. Counsel for Malta in Estonia. Mr Aku Johannes Sorainen on the 15th September and stays open

for the public up to the 02nd October2008
