{"id":6048,"date":"2017-03-30T16:20:50","date_gmt":"2017-03-30T13:20:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.linnamuuseum.ee\/?page_id=6048\/"},"modified":"2017-10-04T12:08:21","modified_gmt":"2017-10-04T09:08:21","slug":"about-the-museum","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/linnamuuseum.ee\/en\/gallery-seek\/about-the-museum\/","title":{"rendered":"About the museum"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>On this site visitors can study the remains of the 13th to 14th century buildings of St John\u2019s Almshouse.<br \/>\nThe exhibit also tells the story of Kivisilla suburb that once surrounded the site.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This delapidated area, once a suburb and later part of central Tallinn, started to change rapidly in the late 1990s, when a new route was constructed for Tartu maantee, the road to Tartu. Well-preserved cellar remains of buildings dating from the 13th and 14 centuries that were part of St John\u2019s Almshouse were unearthed, as well as parts of the almshouse cemetary.
