In our museum child leads and adult follows.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The activities in the permanent exhibition are designed so that the <\/span><b>whole family can explore, experience, and play together<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Exhibits and thematic spaces that support <\/span><b>social skills<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and emotional well-being guide children through <\/span><b>hands-on and minds-on principles<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and active learning methods to:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Manage their <\/span><b>basic emotions<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Understand the <\/span><b>feelings of others<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Perceive their <\/span><b>environment, home, and the world around<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The core method of our exhibition is learning through the free play. All activities and methodological approaches are guided by the underlying theme of empathy \u2013 toward oneself, in relationships with others, and toward the environment around us.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the permanent exhibition, we have created sensory mini-environments:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>The inner world<\/strong> \u2013<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a room to feel safe to explore and learn about emotions<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>The outer world<\/strong> \u2013 the children\u2019s city, where we encourage to play together and socialize through creative spaces<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>World of imagination<\/strong> \u2013 a playful space of<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">shapes and colours to re-create the world as children wish to see.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>The Unity space<\/strong> (\u00dcksmeeletuba)<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; encourages children to face conflicts together and find collaborative solutions.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/BKCUoU2DiTs?si=0oEOrzVeWXifJ6mm\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe> \u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While the indoor spaces reflect the life of <\/span><b>today\u2019s child<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the <\/span><b>outdoor exhibition<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> allows visitors to explore the activities of children from the past in <\/span><b>Children\u2019s Park<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The history of the park is presented through:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A gateway gallery with historical photos \u2013 explore the changing view of the Children\u2019s Park from the 1930s to the 1950s and compare it with present-day park activities<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Best Child in the World<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">monument for<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">every child in the world.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The musical flower garden invites everyone to create harmony with the sounds of nature.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other playful activity stations designed for exploration of the Children\u2019s Park.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>EXPLORE AND LISTEN (in Estonian)<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Listen to an interview with the curators of the permanent exhibition, Sireli Uusmaa and Jane Meesmaa-Roos, and learn how the Children\u2019s Museum Miiamilla created the new exhibition \u201cChildren\u2019s World Spaces\u201d. EXHIBITION \u201cChildren with Green Fingers\u201d AT MUSEUM\u2019S MINI GARDEN\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Miiamilla\u2019s mini garden hosts an always-open outdoor exhibition, <\/span><b>\u201cCHILDREN WITH GREEN FINGERS\u201d<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which allows visitors to engage independently, learn gardening skills, and cultivate a green mindset. The outdoor exhibition is open 24\/7 and free of charge for everyone.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Children\u2019s Museum Miiamilla mini garden was opened in 2014. The environmentally themed exhibition \u201cChildren with Green Fingers\u201d was launched on 14 May 2021.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This exhibition, dedicated to an eco-friendly way of life, guides children \u2013 and all visitors \u2013 step by step toward becoming friends with nature. Miiamilla has always been a hands-on museum, where things can be touched and played with. Activity is also the key word in the garden exhibition, as seven differently shaped activity points invite children to explore nature more closely and take part in engaging tasks around the museum grounds.
