The airfield built there during World War I remained active until the second Soviet occupation, and in the time between the two World Wars the aviation agency Aeronaut also operated on the airfield. The first base for seaplanes was the Seaplane Harbour with its three-domed hangar. In the 1930s, the seaplanes of the Estonian military were moved from their previous location at the Seaplane Harbour to Lake Ülemiste, which boasted a modern new airfield. Seaplanes could land and take off on the lake, while in winter, planes equipped with skis used the lake ice to land and take off.

Curator: Taavi Veiler
Design: Rita Rahu & Lilian Juhkam
Partners: AS Grano Digital, Klavis OÜ, Meediagrupi OÜ, Red Hat Group Design OÜ, AS Toode, T&M TÖÖTUBA (Tõnu Vainküla), Marko Roolaid, Roolaid OÜ, Leo Savila & Lennart Kumm

The exhibition showcases airfields in Tallinn before and during World War II as well as their activities at the time.
