Tallinn City Museum takes part in the international project funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union. Agents of Change: Mediating Minorities (MeM)<\/em> is implemented together with the partners from Finland, Latvia, Sweden, and Estonia.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The project aims to seek and test new interaction models between minorities, cultural institutions and NGOs to contribute and influence the policies supporting cultural diversity, inclusion and societal integration. MeM develops the art mediation<\/em> approach that has recently gained popularity in the audience development work of the art museums, galleries, expanding its context and exploring how it could be used for the development of participatory and inclusion practices. The partners aim to contribute to the change of the attitude towards minorities as a target group, suggesting to treat every person as an expert in their own unique experience.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In spring 2021, the educational programme on art mediation and inclusion for the future \u201cagents of change\u201d and mediators will be held in the partner countries. During interaction with the experts, project partners and with each other, the participants will gain intercultural experience and competences needed for developing initiatives which support participation and inclusion. In summer 2021, the mediators will work jointly with the artists on participatory art projects addressing social issues. Then the mediation series and discussions open for wider public will be organised in autumn 2021. The year 2022 will be devoted to a multifaceted analysis of the possibilities of art mediation approach as a means for inclusion and its applicability for work with different communities and audiences. Best project practices and approaches will be incorporated into the work of the project partners and presented to other cultural institutions, NGOs and authority representatives.<\/p>\n
