Exclusive nightly ghost tours in haunted towers
Finally there is a chance to visit all four towers of the Kiek in de Kök fortification museum with a knowledgeable guide.
Two of the towers were never before open to public. The Stable Tower (Tallitorn) used to be an infamous prison tower in medieval times and is still known by its countless ghost stories.
Guided tours take place on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

The tour starts at the Maiden Tower (Neitsitorn) and we are seeking answers to many questions:
- did God really perform a miracle over here?
- how were the cannons and church bells cast?
- why did the sacristan of St.Olaf’s have to whip the pigs for a pay?
- who has historically lived in this somewhat shady corner?
- where was the special prison for prostitutes?
- who were the town executioners?
- why was Boleman’s sauna so important?
- what´s special about Short Leg Gate Tower (Lühikese jala väravatorn) between two cities, Reval and Dome city, that never got along well…
The tour will take about 1h 30 min depending on how fast we move.

Stories of hauntings, the legends of the four towers, stories of the Danish King’s Garden
Thursdays at 9 pm
Urban legends claim that the four towers and the Danish King’s Garden are the most haunted area in the Old Town.
People have witnessed supernatural phenomena here in the past and even today.
The tour starts at the Maiden Tower (Neitsitorn) and is a mixture of legends and historical fact:
- we are examining inexplicable experiences of the distant (and recent) past
- we learn about the town executioners who lived there next to the wall
- we talk about the legends associated with Maiden Tower and try to figure out what might have given birth to them.
- we explore the infamous prison of Marstall, aka Stable Tower (Tallitorn), where even the prisoners were pestered by ghosts.
- we go to the most haunted building in the city, the Gate Tower at Short Leg (Lühikese jala väravatorn), where we sit down and rest our legs and talk about many ghosts of this city
- we take the wall-walk with its magnificent views to the Old Town
Please dress accordingly to the weather!
However, if the weather is truly horrible, we try to remain indoors as much as it is possible.
