Christmas Concert: Marten Meibaum’s Cellariton in the Museum of Photography

On December 16th at 5:00 PM, Marten “Cellariton” Meibaum will perform in the Museum of Photography.

Meibaum is a multi-instrumentalist, church musician, and improviser. Meibaum graduated from the cello department at the Tallinn Music High School in 2016, studied at the Northern Royal College of Music in Manchester (under Professor Nicholas Jones), and recently earned a master’s degree at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. Since 2021, he has broken ground as a self-accompanying baritone singer/cellist (hence Cellariton). He has also appeared in ’three in one’ performances, combining singing, cello and organ.

In the museum’s hall, beautiful cello sounds and Marten’s deep baritone voice come together. The program includes original compositions inspired by Estonian poetry, songs from Figaro, and the Nordic lands. There will also be improvisations of well-known and beloved Christmas songs on the spot.

Seating in the small permanent exhibition hall is limited. To ensure you don’t miss out on this unique concert experience, it’s worth purchasing tickets early.
