On 5 January, from 11am till 4pm, Tallinn City Museum invites everyone to participate in a cheerful Christmas programme CHRISTMAS IN THE CITY at the Kiek in de Kök Fortifications Museum, the Museum of Photography and City Museum. 

Christmas customs in the culture of the city in the merchant house of City Museum, at the Museum of Photography behind the Town Hall, and in the towers of the Kiek in de Kök Fortifications Museum. We will also be celebrating “Tallinn 800” during the Christmas period.

AT CITY MUSEUM, visitors can find out more about medieval games and holiday customs in the playroom in Tallinn in the Danish period.

Sociologist and food blogger Pille Petersoo will introduce Danish Christmas hygge as well as old and new Christmas recipes from Denmark.
Historian Anne Ruussaar will give a tour of Christmas decorations and table settings at the Langebraun porcelain exhibition.
Students of the Tallinn Cathedral School will sing Christmas songs at the exhibition Tallinn Cathedral School 700.

THE MUSEUM OF PHOTOGRAPHY invites everyone to a postcard-making workshop “Christmas mystery in the darkroom of the Museum of Photography”, where participants can develop postcards on monochrome photographic paper using enlargers.

AT THE KIEK IN DE KÖK FORTIFICATIONS MUSEUM we will find out what kind of Christmas reached these parts through the crusades and via distant trade routes.
