New Outdoor Exhibition “A New Life for Electrical Cabinets” on the Streets of Kalamaja and Pelgulinn

New Outdoor Exhibition “A New Life for Electrical Enclosures” on the Streets of Kalamaja and Pelgulinn

A new outdoor exhibition has appeared on the electrical and telecom enclosures in the neighborhoods of Kalamaja and Pelgulinn. These utility cabinets are part of the urban environment, but they are often defaced and unsightly. That’s why we decided to launch a project to decorate these enclosures in Kalamaja and Pelgulinn with historical photos taken from the exact same locations—or their immediate surroundings.

The outdoor exhibition “A New Life for Electrical Enclosures” features photos sourced from archives and museums, as well as from local residents living in the surrounding buildings—making it a truly community-driven project. The exhibition is a collaboration between historian and suburb enthusiast Jaak Juske and the Kalamaja Museum, bringing together two closely connected neighborhoods: Kalamaja and Pelgulinn.
