Description:
The tour will start at the Maiden Tower (Neitsitorn). If weather permits, we are going to be in the Danish King’s Garden at first seeking answers to many questions: did God really perform a miracle over here, how were the cannons and church bells cast, why did the sacristan of St.Olaf’s have to whip the pigs for a special payment?

Depending on the weather, we’ll walk through the Garden and around the wall to the Kiek in de Kök artillery tower, or use the access along the wall-walk. After visiting Kiek in de Kök, we’ll continue along the wall-walk with its magnificent views to the Old Town and learn about who has historically lived or set up shop there in this somewhat shady corner against the wall. Who were the town executioners, why was Boleman’s sauna so important, where was the real prison for prostitutes?

We’ll return to Maiden Tower, where we’ll learn about the history and famous people who have lived over here throughout the centuries. From Maiden Tower we’ll continue along the wall-walk to the Marstall, aka Stable Tower (Tallitorn), once an infamous prison, and continue to the Gate Tower of the Short Leg (Lühikese jala väravatorn), a symbol of two cities, Reval and Dome city that never got along, now best known by its countless ghost legends. We’ll return using the wall-walk to Maiden Tower and exit to the Danish King’s Garden.

The tour will take about 1h 30 min depending on how fast we move.
